I have been back in Turkmenistan for almost two weeks and it is great to be back. I loved my time in Azerbaijan but actually missed everyone and my daily routines in Turkmenistan. Baku is a bustling city with people everywhere. I was in culture shock when I first arrived and couldn't believe that people actually smoke in public. Turkmenistan has sheltered me for the past year plus and I forget that what is not allowed here happens elsewhere in the world without penalty.
I baked a couple of cakes last night to share with the staff at Peace Corps. We are off for a three day holiday this weekend in light of Nowruz, the Muslim holiday. I educated and shared info on Easter and actually hid eggs in the office as a bonus. It was fun!
